Very handsome fellow, well done, Jacque.

Aye Jacque sadly for some reason the females of most species not as colourful - often wonder if we truly followed nature then perhaps we men should be the ones wearing the lipstick ?

Have you any tree sparrows / they have a lovely brown head and dark cheeks quite distinct from the house sparrow and a really pretty bird close up.

Still trying to track down your yellow butterfly found one called a clouded yellow that is a real deep yellow but described as a summer visitor if its one of these you may have a first Jacque !

Jacque I've just tried to find a pale yellow butterfly that hopefully matches what you saw. Could have been a brimstone which is reputedly one of the first butterflies to appear in spring?

Where have you been Bonkers? Us Essex men have been wearing lipstick and a bit of slap for years now. And talking of fairies............

10 Mar, 2009

Thanx Toto u& BB must be rite as it seems to match its Description well :) Many Thanx Guys X

one of the first butterflies to emerge in the spring is usually the yellow brimstone don't know if that is of any help for you Jacque.

14 Mar, 2009

Another gorgeous visitor you have Jacque. When we set our hawthorn hedge we dotted in maple, holly dog rose and alder buckthorn - as apparently the Alder Buckthorn attracts brimstone butterflies.
