Many Thanks, Arlene! You can see that we managed to grow it successfully. It made a great table centrepiece for the dinner table on Mothers' Day.

What a lovely gift !

I made sure that it was planted in peaty compost, Arlene, without too much watering. It is still growing larger.................?

I've uploaded photos of my Amaryllis but this year I'm not getting any flowers, for the present at least! Perhaps through lack of sun last year - they do like as much sun as possible. Probably that's why they always did so well for me in Spain.
The photo here is lovely! :)

Hi Balcony! Your Amaryllis series of pics are stunning! Did you have a stunning Spanish balcony garden, too, or a garden area? Sounds terrific!

As a matter of fact I did have a "stunning" balcony, or rather, a series of them! We lived in several different flats each with a different balcony. I have many photos of my plants over the many years I lived in Spain. In fact just today I discovered a small photo album of my plants from Spain. I need to scan them into the computer then I can upload some here.
Just a few days ago I scanned some more photos of the Amaryllis I grew in Spain. I should upload some of them!

I hope you do share some of your pics here, balcony. Looking forward to seeing them. :-)

Posted a few of the pics from Spain. You might be especially interested in one where I'm in the background looking like a ghost!

I did see this pic, Balcony, and it is eerie. Will have to muster up the courage to go back and take a look - just joking! :-)

It does look odd, doesn't it? Obviously I didn't remember to wind on the film or perhaps it had got stuck. It looks almost as if it were my spirit floating among them!

It sure does, Balcony, spooky, but must have been a "winding" technical hitch?
Really like the Mayfield Rd planting schemes, they must really bring cheer to the folks passing by. :-)
