Bluebells (Hyacinthoides non-scripta (Bluebell))

Spanish ones, I think. I have both in the garden.

I like Spanish Blue bells in the garden and English ones in the woods, though mine are English in the garden...does that make sense...Lol?

????????? Erm what do Spanish Bluebells look like Janey? R they much different from English1s? :)

The ones in this photo are Spanish, Jacque. They are sturdier, stand up straighter and have flowers all round the stem. I'll try to take a photo of the English ones I have.

Trouble is that they hybridise and then all the bluebells are mixed up!

Janey, I know exactly what you mean!

Oh Dd - although I can understand why, it does seem a shame. :-(

Hope yours bloom soon, Jacque!

I've lots of leaf but no flowers yet. Have both spanish and english but in different areas of the garden.

Think the Spanish bluebell more upright and a paler colour our bluebells have an arching stem as they flower - sadly the Spanish variety more vigorous so as it cross breeds will eventually dominate our variety.

What else?

See who else is growing Hyacinthoides non-scripta (Bluebell).

See who else has plants in genus Hyacinthoides.

This photo is of "Bluebells" in Spritzhenry's garden
