Lysichiton americanus flower (Lysichiton americanus (Yellow skunk cabbage))

It's rather a strange flower, but not unattractive.

I've seen them when they are fully-grown Eileen - quite spectacular!

I hope the floods don't get this. It's in a pot with stones in and also anchored with wire to a large stone, sunk in to the bank!

It's quite fascinating to look at...I like the color

I hope it takes and flourishes. It does show the exotic side most of the time. A fine specimen. :-)

Well, it has been submerged twice already and has survived, so I am hopeful. It would be great to have a HUGE one, wouldn't it! I don't dare plant another one as I wouldn't have a clue as to spacing.

It is said to be invasive, but I have not seen it get that bad.

Mine has grown to twice its size in four years, which isn't particularly fast, is it.

I think our climate holds them in check. It is interesting on American sites just how many plants are invasive with them but not with us, e.g. Euonymus altatus!!!

How odd that seems...but probably just as well.
