Definately has. We have sunset around 10pm and sunrise about 5 right now, so not much darkness left. Still 2 hour dusk and dawns. No more dark second week of mmay about. We're also having a heat wave. Almost 70F today! Still snow on the ground, but it is going fast! Thanks for asking. :-)

Love this plant....but every year some pest devoured all the leaves, apparently it was prone to this kind of attack, so gave up in the end.

I have the same problem with mine DottyD. Its sawfly - I dont like spraying them but dislike removing the grubs even more.

Ahhh thats what it was, its like the gooseberry sawfly.

HI Dawnaunt and Dottydaisy , great to hear from you. We are having a wonderful Spring so far this year ! Highs in the low 70's F and lows around 50. We've even been blessed with a fair amount of rain so far, and all the plants are showing their graditute.
I've read there are about 8000 different species of sawfly around the world, wow..., and each seem to have their favorite host plant. We have the Atomacera decepta, commonly called the mallow of hibiscus sawfly. I had to give them up years ago, but aparantly left alittle root because I saw a few shraggly looking litttle plants trying their hearts out to make something of themselves but the larva just won't let them....lol. Luckily I don't have the one you two are cursed with. But I do know what it like trying to keep them from defoliating a plant overnight, it's a rough battle, one I happened to lose.

Hi FLC, so pleased you are enjoying good weather. Blinkin saw fly - wonder how they know where to find their own speciality. I've had them on my gooseberries too DottyD - how can they devour so many leaves in such a short time. Grrrrrr

That's a good question Dawnsaunt. Too bad we can't figure out a way to trick them by spraying the smell of their host plant on our weeds and let them devour our weeds for us...lol
