What conditions do you find these like for growing please Gardengnome ?

TT, I can only pass on what I've read concerning these. They like well drained (important), light, fertile soil. Need protection from excessive winter moisture. Old flowers should be sheared back for re-blooming all summer. It will grow in full sun or partial shade. Try them again, they just may surprise you. Good luck!

...don't mean to but in, - but can i just add that they prefer Alkaline or neutral soil - i have a real job getting these to grow, but i found that i have one little area in my garden that tests on the alkaline side that i have a white one doing quite well...and this is beautiful Gg - well done you - just love the colour!

did'nt think you would mind :-) and i know this as i have been really unsucessful with them in the past, i have just grown some little chocolate coloured ones from seed that i have planted out mixing in lots of multi purpose as i go - see if that works .... hope so this one is stunning..did you grow it from seed?

No, Majeekahead I purchased two plants several years ago and they have practically taken care of themselves. The soil they are in must agree with them. I wish I could find the chocolate ones; that would be a nice contrast to these.

oh yes, definately, i bought the seed for them off ebay, and they were really easy from seed.

Thanks. I'll give ebay a try. Somehow I never think of them for plants.

i have got most of my collection on there, but you have to watch who you buy from, only go for thoughs that have a good feedback rating, and offer refunds if you are not happy, and only pay with paypal, and you will be fine.
