This has exceeded all my expectations!

I knew of this plant when Gilli suggested it.Yes, Skippy, I do think that she has good taste! :-).

Seeds are readily available, but grown this way won't flower until year 2. I said that I would look out for actual plants, and found it online, so received it just in time to bloom now.

This" tactical shopping" can work out very well, but was let down recently, when I ordered Fritillaria persica "Chocolate". When we received them, the flower heads had all been chopped off. Oh well, next Spring will be here soon enough, lol! meanwhile, member Rosalieg has a couple of pics of this one. :-)

Bb:- I vaguely remember chocolate figure shapes, with the foil wrapping made as Guadsmen in their scarlet tunics, black trousers and bearskins. Can't remember who made them, though. :-(
Gee:- I was thinking more of a large dollop of chocolate sauce with a vanilla ice drizzle, haha!

I consider myself a Chocolate Soldier - actually I'm more of a chocolate muncher!
Nice plant David.

chocolate factory status for this one definately. It's certainly very different. Perhaps you could find out who made the chocolate soldiers by going on to the www. We seem to remember them, and our sweet shop had jars and jars of sweets to choose from all lined up on the shelves. The counter had open slots for sweets with glass in the front and the lady weighed out the sweets into small white paper bags.

Well, Greenfingers, as the saying goes, "An army marches on its stomach" ! :-) Many Thanks, we really, really, love this one!

Yessir Lindak!! Will make this a secret mission! Your sweet shop sounds just like the one I was used to, once upon a time! :-)
