She has it in a container up high. As soon as I saw it I told her that I had to get my ladder so that I could take a picture :)

This is Papaver rhoeas or corn poppy
Edible uses
Colouring; Flowers; Leaves; Oil; Seed.
The seed can be eaten raw or cooked. They are mostly used in flavouring cakes, bread, fruit salads etc, they it impart a very nice nutty flavour. The seeds are rather small, but they are contained in fairly large seed pods and so are easy to harvest.
Leaves - raw or cooked are used like spinach or as a flavouring in soups and salads. The leaves MUST NOT be used after the flower buds have formed, caution is advised.
An edible oil can be obtained from the seeds. They are said to be an excellent substitute for olive oil,. They can also be used in salad dressings or for cooking.
A syrup prepared from the scarlet flower petals, is used in soups, gruels etc.
A red dye from the petals is used as a food flavouring, especially in wine.
NEVER USE ANY PLANT WITHOUT EXPERT ADVISE
