I saw the sun briefly Sandra - in between the showers :-( My uncle lives near Blackpool and the weather seems to vary greatly from where we are. Do you get frosts Sandra - maybe not as you are near the coast.

Milky:
I read you keep in the greenhouse in Winter. Does this Bougainvillea bloom all year for you?
20 May, 2009
I love these. Your doing well with yours as they are not easy in our climate. Well done.
20 May, 2009
Lucky you Milky, it's beautiful!!

Delinox..... It did this last winter Andy, only a couple of blooms but I dont think it would normally....Toto, they do have to be in a sheltered spot, which is not easy in our North facing garden, and thanks Panther

Milky:
Thanks for the information.
Not to show off...however, I'll have to post for you some really old large Bougainvillea...so you can see how large they grow here. They can grow to 60 feet/20 meters tall up a tree...and bloom all year. Some colors can be quite impressive.
21 May, 2009
That would be nice to see Andy.....I think this mauve is the hardiest and easiest to grow here, but I do love the other colours........

Milky:
I thought about taking some photos on my way home today -- of the huge mounding shrubs along the freeways, however, it's just too dangerous to stop...to many crazy drivers.
There's many thousands of Bougainvillea shrubs, vines, and trees (standards) growing here (I think it's the most widely grown vining shrub here)...I'm sure I'll find several to photograph. : > )
21 May, 2009
Look forward to seeing them Andy.......
