No3 of my 'foliage variations'. It's only a rodgersia but I love the foliage! You can easily imagine the effect with red crocosmia and other strap-like foliar plants such as cordyline or phormium.

the taxonomists are messing with names again...I was looking for an 'architectural' type of large leafed plant to put against a fence in a wet bog garden-type spot...found a plant called Astilboides tabularis...aparently a new name for Rodgersia...so what's up with that?
Is your Rodgersia staying a rodgersia...and my Astilboides, (which was once a Rodgersia) becoming an Astilboides because of some hitherto unknown and newly discovered difference? Rodgersia or Astilboides I like these plants...

I have no idea about its taxonomic future Lori.

I wonder why you said "it's only a rodgersia"?

For me at least, rodgersias tend to be one of those plants that become 'somewhat forgetable' in my soil/location. Nonetheless, this one has a memorable leaf which was reason enough for me to photograph it.
