Many Thanks, Irish and Bb.

Sandra, these ones are 30" tall. They are in very dark blue glazed pot. I have got 5 flowers from 3 bulbs planted in late October. As I said elsewhere, I chose "Beau Regard" because it was very like Violet Beauregarde, the girl in the story of our theme who turned into a giant blueberry. In fact, the white blossom behind the alliums is on Blueberry "Earliblue" planted in another container with ericaceous compost. With the "chocolate" coloured fence, it all seems to fit very well together .

I can see this one at the top of the advertising space on the right of this page, lol!

Sandra, do you really mean "from seed"? You'll have to wait a few years, then, for the flowers. Or, are you planning to cultivate them for sale, in which case seed is by far the cheapest, but slowest option. Dried Christophii heads make fabulous Christmas floral decorations, especially if sprayed with gold, bronze, copper or silver paint, btw. My Mum used to do this with hers). :-)

i think it would take three- four years for the flower. but i just have to, they are sooooo lovely. i have agapanthus from seed it was worth the wait....

I planted some alliums bulbs last year and have been very pleased with them. These look like the gladiator variety that grew to 50 inches tall. I was also successful with Christophii and Shuberti varieties. Others I planted seemed to have disappeared.

They are similar to "Gladiator", Gf!, but shorter. Gr8 success with the ones which grew 4u - wonder what happened to the others?

Well I planted about 50 drumstick and 20 purple sensation allium bulbs purchased cheaply from a well known UK DIY store - none of the drumstick and only one purple sensation came through. They were planted in the same area as the Gladiators (7 out of 10), Schubertii and Christophii that were successful. The successful bulbs were purchased through the internet direct from a specialist bulb grower. They were planted all at the same time so maybe it was a case of you get what you pay for. However I did buy a mount everest allium bulb cheaply from another DIY store and that was also successful. The photos are too good to share on GOY! lol If everyone sees our photos they will want to buy the bulbs and the price will go up!

Awm Gf, just don't tell us where you got the good ones from. Is there really no chance of letting us see the pics? Please? :-) :-) :-)

OK I'll try and post some photos - I will put them in a short blog - I worry though that some members might get the impression I am interested in gardening.

Many Thanks! Will look out for it. And, don't worry about any impressions gained, they can be corrected. :-)
