James was reading about Violet Beauregarde turning into a giant blueberry. I thought this a great chance to include our Allium "Beau Regard" in the pic!

Many Thanks, Bb, and Arlene.
Hard to believe there was nothing in it at all 4 months ago, but it's getting there. Still, we do have times when we just sit there, not doing much, which is what it's really all about. :-)

your garden does look lovely David and what a delight in this day of modern gadgetry to actually see a child reading a book outside in the fresh air..........

Lincslass, I've just raised my eyebrows, with your reference to "modern gadgetry", which will feature in our themed garden. In the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, one of the golden ticket winners is Mike Teavee, a kid totally hooked on the small silver screen. In the original story, this is to gangster movies; in the Gene Wilder movie version, it was cowboys and Indians movies. In the more recent Tim Burton version, this had been updated to computer games. James does enjoy such games, too, but he is definitely not an addict, and is an avid reader (he takes after me in this way). Our plant reference to Mike Teavee will be based on James' 2 favourite set of movies/games, Star Trek and Star Wars.
Wohlibuli, I take this as a great compliment from one with such a photographically-gifted son (where did those pics of his go?).
Sewingkilla, I did have plans for a "glass elevator". My experiments to date haven't quite worked ( a bit like some of Mr Wonka's, lol). Would really like one, in which to grow some toms or chillis!
