I just brought in the rhisome last year and didn't label color, just hoping my favorite, would come through fine. Turns out the tallest and first to bloom as well. !!!

Thank you both. I am so pleased my favorite from last year is doing so well. There will be so many more blooms to enjoy!

This is lovely Greenthumb.
I was very tempted to buy a Dahlia last week in a local garden centre but was put off by the label suggesting full sun only, the position i was looking to fill was part shade.
What type of position do you have yours?

Thank you all. This is a treasure of mine.
I have it in full sun as well. I'd give them at least 6hrs sun. I've been getting on well like that with dahlia.

Thanks NN! I love this one! I can't wait for all the blooms to come. From a six pack mix last year to already 6 buds and 2ft tall! I bought a six pack of stargazer this year hopefully for a similar result.

I started them indoors in April. They have really grown in May. This one just burst into bloom.

Thanks FC. I've gotten the bug, bringing these through winter and getting these nice big plants. This color is my all time fav. I thought it would be the single bloom magenta that I didn't like so much.

Thanks Deida and Regina. This one is my favorite color. This bloom isn't perfect, but those will come. :-) I've since got a better bloom shape. I love this yellow and red, the name is harlequin for these multicolor semi double blooms.

That is a gorgeous colour, I love Dahlias too, their colours are almost iridescent! Just wish they didn't give good homes to Earwigs LOL

This is just a little bedding dahlia I picked up in a six pack and stored the tuber over winter. Much more a show this year. I'm glad I don't have earwigs here Pamazon, I don't like them at all.
