Finally found out the name of this shrub - can add it to My Garden now.

There are several Bottlebrush plants growing in gardens I pass on the way backwards to town.

I love all the Combretum species...they all are very spectacular flowering vines, shrubs and trees. Most grow well here.

Yes thanks Delonix, Deida, Balcony and Sunblest - this shrub is a beauty and I just love it's unusual bloom. It has those star-shaped flowers and out of the centre of each grow those long stamens.
