I think that's what it is Amy, though it's not like the Yellow Lysmachia is it? This is another one that frequents the waysides and byeways, but the bees love it....:o) The pink one sounds unusual, I haven't seen that..........

Just been watching Flog It in Norwich and was looking for you and Jacque...just in case.....:o)

Had a look on the internet and it's latin name is Lythrum Salicaria....not quite sure if its the same flower though.

I think there's a confusion going on here, folks. I don't think that this is Loosestrife - the leaves are wrong and the flowers are as well!

Purple Loosestrife, or Lythrum salicaria, is not related to Lysimachia so it won't be like it, will it?

I have Lythrum on my stream bank as it likes its feet wet - it is either purple, magenta or there is a blush pink one. Not blue. I'm not sure what your pretty plant is, but Loosestrife isn't in flower yet. That looks a bit like Linaria, or else, possibly a Larkspur??

Sorry to put my oar in....

Oh, pleased you have Spritz......I wonder what it is then, I've looked in the wild flower books, but its not there, it used to grow in my Mums garden along with Speedwell when we were children. It grows to about a metre and self seeds easily. It's not Larkspur...I have them coming into flower now, I'll have a look at Linaria.....:o)
