WOW!!!! This is wonderful, you must be over the moon Deida. What a lovely surprise to come home to. I think I mentioned before - the BTO book says if you are very lucky and leave the greenhouse door open a little you may get robins nesting - have you read that BB. I'm thrilled for you and what an excellent photo - putting on my favourites right now
20 Jun, 2009
Thanks Dawn, yes I am over the moon about it. Chicks doing well, growing up so quickly..they can see now..every time I come close to the nest to take a pic they close their eyes and cuddle up together to a black bundle.no luck..

21 Jun, 2009

xx

For the last couple of weeks I've been leaving meal worms for a pair of robins that are obviously feeding their young somewhere - I dont think they are nesting in our garden, but I dont mind. It must be hard work for them keeping all those mouths filled :-) They keep coming and going all day.

Hi Dawn big progress..little babies playing hide and seek in the greenhouse'
this morning the nest was empty. I was so upset, thinking some predators got hold of them...no they where hiding in a little plantbox next to the nest, hour later I had a peep no chicks in the planter ,they all snuggled back into the nest
what a relief..
by the way there are 6 Chicks.....
I don't leave mealworms..we are so active in the garden, plenty food for Mr. and Mrs.and Robin, and they know it
22 Jun, 2009
Hi Deida, so pleased all is well with the baby robins, you will remember this experience forever :-) We had a robin nest in our big shed a few years ago and they learnt to fly in there before they went out into the big, wide world. Great isnt it, I'm thrilled for you and looking forward to seeing ore pics.
22 Jun, 2009
they will grow very fast deida...you will see changes daily in them.
24 Jun, 2009
Lucky Deida!
They are so cute!
Last year some robins started to make a nest in our brics shed but because the door is missing we were afraid the neighborough's cats would be dangerous so we discouraged them but they nested near by and the little ones were coming to feed in our garden.
24 Jun, 2009
How lovely, it will be great to watch them grow and finally leave the nest. Seems an ideal place to raise a family! Wonder if they'll be back next year.
24 Jun, 2009
Thanks everybody for you lovely comments and interest..
sadly ,yesterday my little babies fledged the nest.I have watched them flying out of the greenhouse one by one,in one way it is a blessing as the weather is so hot today, they would have been scorched.
24 Jun, 2009
Aww bless, good luck to them :-)
24 Jun, 2009
Wow! you must feel so priviledged to have watched them close up, I bet even Kate Humble would envy you. How wonderful they've all made it.
