Pelidnota punctata Grapevine Beetle

This beetle was winged and huge...for an idea of scale the lattice is 4 inches square...he was at least 1-1/2 inches long....sounded like a Hercules when he flew...didn't appreciate my interest...flew off over my fence into a field. typical of I once caught a fish thhhiiiisss big....Wiki says they are about an inch long...ok. Thanks to Flcrazy.

Great close-up ! Looks like a grapevine beetle. Some have a more orangish shell than the usual tan color.
