These start off with a very fluffy head, and gradually open showing this spiral effect. I have no idea of the name. Open flower next photo.

Sorry Gee, I'm looking at these in reverse order ! It is Inula hookeri and it's very popular with bees and butterflies. I grew it in my last garden, on sandy soil and it made quite a spread - lovely plant. :-)
