I always have lots of blossom on this plant but never any berries. Does anyone know why?

Apparently some of these need another plant to cross-pollinate with to get the berries. Plum Passion is one of these so perhaps that's what you have.

It doesn't look like the common Bamboo, it's lovely.

Ahhhh, now i see ..... !!!
I've just googled this plant .... it's not a bamboo at all !!!
It's a relative of Berberis !!!
I've been puzzling about this for ages Gee :)))
You've got a lovely plant there, beautiful autumn foliage on it ... i like :)))

Sorry for confusing you all, I should have put the proper name in the title :)
I have had this plant for about 10 years and have several off shoots from it too. Earlier this year I bought a different variety, Firepower, which is quite different to look at (just entered into my plant section). Like you suggest Wagger I thought it might encourage berries but it's so different I am doubtful.

They should all produce berries straight after the flowers Gee, look at this that i found ....

Thanks, Louise, I have just checked that site out. My Firepower hasn't had any flowers so far but it is a new plant. The flowers on the Richmond variety usually just shrivel up! I see berries on the plants in some garden centres so I do wonder what I am doing wrong or not doing at all :)
