Make sure it has plenty of drainage holes in it Eileen ...
Actualy you could have the slabs stepping down like stairs it would make a nice waterfall ... LOL ...

Jaysus I see what you mean Eileen - I wish I had an answer for you - anyway never mind all that, I need to see that photo with the Daily Record pretty soon ; )

:o( it surely must stop raining soon...? Then you'll have your new patio before you know it!

24 Jul, 2009

Make sure a land drain is installed that takes the water away from the patio area Irish. It is very cheap and will prove it's worth as soon as you have your next torrential downpour.

24 Jul, 2009

lol Angie , no why i could bury anyone under this , they would just float back up

I feel for your, Irish, as I have this problem in my front garden. Very heavy rain today (and hailstones) and all the guttering overflowed - was a bit like being behind a waterfall (not that I ever have been!).Looking on the positive side hopefully it will have filled my water butt. Hope you dry out very soon.

1 Aug, 2009

looks more like November today...lol its Tipping it down................

1 Aug, 2009

we have had a wee bit of sunshine so far today but also some right heavy showers

1 Aug, 2009

Just got the washing in as it's gone as black as the ace of spades outside. Perhaps if I put the iron over it all it will help to dry it a bit. Must go and fetch Peter the rabbit in too. Sorry you were flooded Irish. You'll have to have the patio built on a gradient so that it drains to water away.
Our small new one drains into pebbles that reach the drain so it keeps reasonably from flooding. Let's hope we get some Summer sunshine soon as it will soon be the Autumn again.
