this is a lovely untouched area of bushland in the middle east of north island New Zealand
Lake waikaremoana in the morning
a scene that you will remember for life
nature recycling
a water fall untouched by tourisim
the walk is about 20 minutes and the final lake at the end waikareiti
(sorry no pic.) is crystal clear and the bush touches the water and trout can be seen swimming at least 20 meters away in the water.

Thanks for the lovely walk you've given us, PD, around your countryside.
Ever since as a boy at school in London when we had to do a project on NZ in class I've wanted to visit NZ! 50 years later I'd still like to realize my dream one day!

Are those tree ferns or what in the second pix? What a wonder to see NZ plants in natural context. Thanks for inviting us to share this peaceful place.

they are a sort of tree fern and grow many feet high but seem to be stunted when in the undergrowth.
not familiar with the type
from google
New Zealand Tree Fern Fronds by Pieter Pieterse.
New Zealand has around 146 species of tree fern. Some of these are ancient and date back to when Dinosaurs roamed the earth. These various tree ferns are very commonly found in the native New Zealand bush and rain forests, where they grow quite tall!
follow this link and you will see the most wonderfull variety of ferns from NZ
