Not a pretty flower

I noticed this very tall grass (corn like) along the roadside which I think is Arundo donax which could be a good plant for a large property and not invasive in cooler climate.

I agree Hywel. It could be a good substitute for Bamboo ..for screening....for example.

Arundo donax can be very invasive in tropical/subtropical climates. When it flowers you have seeds everywhere.
