Very reliable - flowering in the winter months.

I suppose it has some shelter from the easterly winds, Hywel, as it's growing on a trellis - only one side faces west. I haven't had any problems with it - except that its rather TOO vigorous! lol.

Thanks. I must try it again in a different place !

One of my favourites , Mine has been flowering for weeks , one on a west facing wall ( one of my baby cuttings ) the parent one on an archway out in the open not doing quite as well ....... Happy Christmas Barbara and a wonderful New Year :o))

Thanks, Amy. I wish you the same. :-))
I think my other two cirrhosas have flowers on them, but out of reach.
Hywel, it's well worth persevering - it flowers so often, not just in the winter months. Good luck with the next one.

Thank you Barbara :o)
I'm going to try it on a trellis near the shed I think. It will have some shelter there, and I'll be able to see it from the conservatory.

That is beautiful Spritz. I hope things are a little more comfortable for you now and you can enjoy Christmas :o)x

That's lovely Spritz.
I got a very small one of these from Morrisons as few months back. I potted it up into a larger pot and placed it in against the wall (SE) - it has put on lots of growth and so far the last 2 weeks of hard frost hasn't affected it. It flowered soon after I bought it but I'm hoping it will flower again!

You might well get a few more flowers, Kath. I do love Hellebores -I was pleased to get another area where they'd thrive! :-)
Annella - thank you, but not yet, I'm afraid, and there's another flood warning out. :-((

Absolutely delightful. What is the temperature where you live? I can't believe such beauties flower in the winter!

We're in a mild-ish part of the UK, where it's normally about +1 - +5 in the winter with an occasional frost, but in the last few years we've gone down as far as -10. All three of my C. cirrhosas are very happy in my garden. :-))

These are lovely. Do they need much shelter ? I can never grow them and think I don't plant them in the right place.
