Thanks ladies, it suffered a little this last winter , but it is romping away now.

Does it normally have that paler centre DD? Or is a trick of the light?
27 Apr, 2011

I got some cuttings of this last year and have a few 'Broughton Star' as well. Need a nice (big) place to put them now!!

This one's a gorgeous colour, I always seem to pick the paler pinks that turn out a bit wishy washy

Oh dear, another dent in the bank balance, went looking for this..sold out most places..but then found it and fell in love with two more!
And all because you posted this pic DD.."that's another fine mess you got me into, Stanley!!"

Sorry Tet but a girl has to do ........Vincent I am growing Broughton Star it is just coming in to flower.
Annella this is certainly not wishy washy, I have several others that are though,,lol

3 May, 2011
Its a knack she has Cristina...wish I had it..grrrrrrrrr
3 May, 2011
Cristina it is small, we prune and then prune again, we also grow plants up as we have 5 arches and 5 obelisks and a large decking pergola, so that is how it is done lol
3 May, 2011
just counted my arches .............errrr ten .............. some resent , so i guss have to get planting then !!! but 40 clems , how many on each one ....................... omg !!
5 May, 2011
Mine came yesterday, had just a few flowers left on it..fantastic! Now I have to wait for next year.
5 May, 2011
Not long then Tetra, are you pleased with it? Cristina I thought I was going some with 5 !! the clematis are all around the garden, not just on the arches, the roses are on the arches with two clematis to each one, most are climbing through trees and shrubs and growing up fences and obelisks. Are you thinking about opening your garden then? not forgotten the blog, will write it after our first open day!!
5 May, 2011
DD, opening your garden must be such hard work! We have been going almost non-stop for two weeks on ours, and still not finished enough to sit back yet, oh for some rain! Tonight they promise, and tomorrow..just googled weather for you and looks like you will get the same..
Yes very pleased with Freda, now I have to decide exactly where to put her!
Looking forward to your opening day, we may stay overnight somewhere and visit Broadlands is it? The Mountbatten place, think its near you.
6 May, 2011
Oh are you coming? that would be brilliant to see you, Broadlands is not far away, there are several lovely places to see, just depends if they are open.
6 May, 2011
Fiddle! Broadlands closed for 2011 for repairs! Exbury Gardens will be past their best. Beaulieu seems okay, although we have been there before..any other recomendations DD?
7 May, 2011
There are obviously several open for the NGS on the same day as ours, we are on Sunday so will you be coming up on the Saturday?
7 May, 2011
Depends on the Travelodge available..just doing a bit of research first.
8 May, 2011
d.d ..every one keeps saying we shud , but its not fin yet . we are laying grass down the woodland path , the bit we dun looks much better . but we keep runing out of dosh.................. how did you deside to do it , and is it a lot of paper work etc ................. theres a few near us i want to see !!!
8 May, 2011
Not a lot of paper work, just a lot of hard graft to keep the garden looking immaculate, we must spend an average of 3 hours a day (both of us) potting pruning tying in roses and clematis, looking after the lawn no weeds here, not allowed OHs pride and joy his lawn.
