Yes, it's the actual tree where coffee beans (seeds) are grown from. The cherries are edible, also. I used to have a large coffee tree. It died during the long, horrible 7 year drought.

Coffee tree grow well in San Diego's subtropical climate (with lots of water). In fact, there's been discussions about commercial coffee plantings here in San Diego.
