Looks great Angela ... very tropical ..... Isn't it great having a night off from watering!

Thank you, and yes it is such a relief, the ground was as dry as a bone despite all our watering!!

Yes, you do need a proper wetting from time to time...even in the south! I'm always pleased to see just how well that Laurel fits in to the scheme. It's not an obvious choice for me...but it works so well under that magnificent Tree Fern. The other Fern looks marvellous too!

This is the fern corner, you can just make out the Asplenium at the bottom in the middle K..... our middle TF is just behind the Daddy and the fronds are larger than the big one, really huge. I am surprised the laurel does as well as it does, being as the TF is watered every day!!

It looks very nice.It loves rain!

At first glance I thought you were growing the New Zealand Black Tree Fern (Cyathea medullaris). It grows to more than 50' (15m) tall here...and needs a lot of water to grow well.

Oh yes! I see the Asplenium peeping out!

I see your Asplenium bulbiferum, also. This is a very common landscape fern along with Asplenium nidus (Bird-nest-fern), especially in shaded areas here in San Diego, CA.

Asplenium nidus grows so much larger and beautiful. You most likely can't grow it outside in your climate; however, maybe Aplenium australasicum may grow outside. It's still somewhat tropical but a bit hardier.

Beautiful ferns DD. Yes we are expecting rain shortly. The garden has been dry especially along the back of the flowerbeds near the fencing.

They look beautiful and if your weather is the same as ours today they will be covered in raindrops and having a good soak!

Delonix I must look up Asplenium australasicum, sounds interesting, we grow lots of different ferns, and I might have a coup!e of spaces!!

A. australasicum would be worth the searching for. I know it's native to tropical and subtropical Australia. Not sure how hardy it is. It should be hardier than A. nidus, though.
