Geranium Rozanne

Geranium Rozanne (Geranium robertianum (Cranesbill))

Pruned this geranium back yesterday, it has gone a little crazy with the recent excess of rain. Unfortunately I chopped a lot of the flowers off, but, it really had to be done.

That's an appealing photo, Kate, with the shadows. She is a thug if not controlled, isn't she? I'm sure she'll grow back for you very quickly.

I have thrashed ours, she was sprawling all over the place, will definitely have to move her in the Autumn....

It will definitely benefit from a trim ........as will I on Wednesday!!!

This one just goes mad. I removed mine, but it's come back from a seedling I guess. I don't have the heart to take it out again...its so determined to be here! Beautiful flowers though. I have a similar one with paler leaves and flowers called 'Havana Blues' which is my favourite geranium. I love it, and it's not so rampant!

Thanks everyone, it’s been there for several years and I was tempted to remove - but it usually has a swarm of bees on it through three day. Therefore, I primed it quite a bit, which I’m now pleased to have done as all of your advice is most welcome and helpful! Thanks ; - )
Thanks Paul, I was inspired after staying at a hotel in Sorrento many years ago, the Ambasciatori. So, we did it on a smaller scale.
Chris, I had a trim, colour and even a fringe cut in yesterday. It was lovely to be pampered, despite the expense!

I usually cut mine right back to the ground once they've finished flowering Kate and then they often have a second flush about September ..

I have this Kate and it even climbs up my Alstromerias !

Thanks Amy, that’s good to know! Good to have a second flush for the bees.
Rose, I can relate. We took out a couple of euonymus plants which were adjacent to it recently - every year the geranium seemed to feed it’s way through both at a speedy rate.

I CUT MINE BACK KATE AND IT FLOWERS AGAIN. GOOD FOR THE BEES.
