Iris "histrio" (Iris histrio)

A species iris from S.Turkey and Israel, Lebanon etc. Nice French blue flower with yellow lines and dark navy spots. If only it was cheaper, though.....

I bought some last year, they died...took the dead bulbs back, was given more...in flower...nice. I thought they had died again last summer (am pants at looking after plants in pots!) chucked the bulbs under a clematis and have just seen some little green shoots. Hurrah!

I think you might have a better result if you plant them in pots.

I did but they always died!

I think "luck" is also important......by the way, I've also had one of my species iris bulbs and a fritillaria bulb rotten this winter....sad.....
