Lamium maculatum 'White Nancy' for shady areas  (Lamium maculatum)

Variety or cultivar: 'White Nancy' _ 'White Nancy' is a mat-forming, herbaceous perennial with rough, heart shaped, white-mottled leaves and in summer, it produces white flowers on spikes.

Lamium maculatum 'White Nancy' is: Deciduous

Flower: White in Summer

Foliage: White, Dark-green in Spring; Dark-green, White in Summer

Habit: Mat Forming, Spreading

Awards: RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit)

Soil types: Chalky, Clay, Loamy, Sandy (will tolerate most soil types)
Soil drainage: Moist but well-drained, Well-drained
Soil pH: Acid, Alkaline, Neutral
Light: Partial Shade, Full Shade
Aspect: North, East, West
Exposure: Sheltered
Hardiness: Hardy (H4)

They can go a bit mad Paul, but I'm sure someone on here said to me recently that this one is not so rampant. I had a purple flowered one with silvery leaves and within a couple of years it was all through the blooming border. I spent the last two years getting it out and it's still popping up in there. Anyway, it's lovely....keep an eye on it! lol :)

Ooo forgot about Lamium, I'm looking for plants for a shady spot, doing a extension on the woodland bed, this is a lovely one, adding to favourites.
There was a lovely one a Malvern quite tall with really huge pink flowers, never seen one like it, of course it'd sold out and forgot to make a note of the name :-(

Now that is a lovely one Karen, I've added to favourites so I remember the name, thankyou for that, it'd look lovely with my 2 new hostas and don't mind if it spreads around either, much prefer that to the ivy I spend my life trying to get rid of :-))
