I don't think I've ever seen this before. I see it's common name is Merrybells. Suits it's name!

Thats what I thought Sticki. It does doesn't it Ojib. The flower on this is very bright yellow but 2nd hand told me about another U. grandiflora var. pallida and it is a lovely cream colour. Edrom have both of them and another with grey green foliage and pale green-yellow nodding flowers with long petals. It is U. sessilifolia. I can feel another collection starting.

That is very true. I bought this one at Suntrap yesterday. They only had two left and I got one and the assistant volunteer got the other.

One of my favourite spring blooms Scotsgran.

It is new to me and I am delighted with it. Do you have it in the garden Meanie. If so have you found any problems in growing it.

Dead easy to grow. The biggest problem is remembering where it is, as it disappears in the summer. I recently moved so mine was lifted - it has bloomed and looks equally as happy in a pot at the moment.

I was thinking of putting it in a pot in a shady area to see how it goes before planting it in the garden. People seem to lose them very easily and the slugs and snails seem to be partial to them as well.

Mine is (and was) in afternoon shade. Make sure that there is sufficient drainage - I mix grit and coarse vermiculite and plant over that.

Thank you for that advice. I have a good spot where it will get afternoon shade.
