What's this plant please?

This comes up every year in the 'wild' part of my back garden. I mean to take a photo a week ago when it was at its finest. Today it's looking a bit sad, but when it comes out at first the blooms are the brightest yellow, round, like Chinese lanters with red bits dangling down from the centre. It's lovely, but also a bit weird! I'd love to know what it is.

Yes it does look a bit like the Yellow Turk's Cap lily.

THanks. I just Googled Turk's Cap Lily and the images do look a lot like this. That's great, I was wondering if it was a wild orchid.

Wow, what a fabulous wild plant to flower every year in your garden, it must be very happy with the location.....:o)

Hi Janey, it must be pretty hardy, as it's on an exposed hillside on the wild, wet and windy west of Scotland, but up it pops year after year!
