Roses to grow in an obelisk

I'd like to grow a white rose up a 2m high obelisk. Should I go for a climbing rose or a standard rose? Does anyone have experience with growing roses on an obelisk?

Oooh yes I have iceberg aswel its beautiful. I think an obelisk would be brilliant for it to climb up, you can see it from all the way round and they are sturdy too

We have a lovely rose climbing up a wall at work and it is called Bobbie james, it has lovely clusters of white roses with yellow centres and smells good too!

Bobbie James is lovely but far too vigorous for a 2m support.

Climbing Iceberg has to be the one - won't get taller than your obelisk, slight fragrance, glossy green leaves.

I would personally go for a climber. You would spoil the standard if you didn't keep it pruned.
Iceberg rose is one of my favorites.
