Tree seedling ID

Hi all, I found this woody and rather well-nibbled young plant nestling under some Tutsan in the shady part of my garden. I think it's probably Field Maple from the leaf shape but would like confirmation of this. What do you think?

Leaf colour is deceptive because of flash - it's darker and not bluey-green.

Possibly sycamore?

Yup looks like on of the maples to me

I think it's a Sycamore.

I'd go along with the maple id. Sycamore seedlings have more pointed lobes.

I don't think it's sycamore as I've had their seedlings before and the appearance resembled Amblealice's description.

How do I say thanks?
