If you put them "all together" in that big hole - split them up again ...there will be lots - then plant them out individually where you want them to flower later...keep them dead-headed and they will do fine. If there isn't room yet where you want the winter/spring show...find somewhere shady to plant them out just now to bulk up - and as MG says - enjoy the show - but again keep them dead-headed and THEN plant them out with a bit of good compost when you ARE ready - and they will still put on a show for you....they are very adaptable. Good luck

some of mine I left in the pots in an area that never sees the sun have flowered again my friend says it's the poor weather

Its quite usual for them to flower again this time of year, though not often as good as the spring display. Not sure about the deadheading being necessary - I've never ever bothered with that, and they flower every year regardless.

Not at all, Alzheimer - though I wondered if you deadheaded for reasons of tidiness rather than necessity, that's true, but I was trying t be tactful - I'm just not very good at it;-))

my advice would be to enjoy unexpected pleasures while you have them!!

To be honest - I deadhead when I remember or see that I must...tidiness comes way down the list in my garden believe me! When I was about 50 years younger I was much fussier..having been told by my dear old grandad that plants shouldn't waste their energy and all that stuff. Later on I began to wonder how on earth plants managed in the wild!!!!!! LOL!!

You could try replanting them in containers or simply leave them where they are and enjoy
