has anyone else had a wonderful crop of peppers

I grow grill peppers and a mixed colour both from T&M the crop this year is fantastic! bell pepper the size of my hand, lovely long grill peppers s it the weather( hot sping) or does this always happen to most folk!

just wondered how you know when they are ready to harvest?
I have loads of chilli peppers, jalepeno and others but need to know when to harvest them

anytime mookins!
basically you can eat them green, stripey-- which look good in salads-- or when red (yellow or orange at the moment!) the riper the sweeter and juicier or in the case of chillis the hotter!

With regard to chillies, I leave mine on the plant for at least two weeks after they have turned red. I've found from past experience that this improves the heat.

It depends on the species, some go purple/black.
This is what mine are like at present. My Scots Bonnet are pale green, Thai and Tepin are dark green, another one (Ithink its Cherry Bomb) is white with purple blotches,Bell peppers are still green, sweet chillies are dark green. They will all turn red eventually.

I took all my chilis off, they were given to my sister in law for her hubby
apparently he love them green
hes going to have to love them cos there were loads hehe

Hi I don't know the reason either but my peppers have all done really well this year. Lets enjoy them while the goings good. wish I could say the same for my spring onions.
