Anenome Blanda
Surrey, United Kingdom
I have bought Anenome Blanda bulbs (or rabbit droppings as my hushand called them!) and wondered if I needed to soak them overnight before planting.

One of my favorites, not just cos it's blue! I bought some once but they came to nothing, I think they like acid soil. In the next village there's a garden literally covered in them, the trees are Magnolias, It looks wonderful in Spring.

I called these sheep droppings. I didn't know you should soak them so does that mean they won't come to anything?
They're in pots in multi purpose compost.

I'm glad I read this as I bought some just this morning and I've now been reminded about soaking them. I do remember doing this years ago when I had some. Mine are going in pots too so that I know where they are.
I think they probably will GG but maybe will take longer?

I've got some more on order because i forgot I'd ordered them so I'll soak the next lot.

I only asked because I looked at the yesterday and they're as hard as bullets! My husband honestly thought they were from a joke shop, as they were in a clear bag in the fridge with everything else.
Thanks for all the answers - GG - I'm sure they will work, just will take longer. Interesting about the acid soil - does anyone else know if this is true?

Hi MwS. Yes, you are quite correct in thinking they need soaking, particularly when they are dry stored. 12 hours should be more than sufficient.
