I have just been given what I believe is a skimmia japonica - maybe the rubella variety looking at all the pictures I have found - and I think male.
My question is whether it would tolerate being treated as a house plant? - as it would look lovely in a container in my lounge - which is a medium light (not direct sunlight) but fairly cool room.
Thanks

I agree.
It's a strong outdoor shrub.
Why not plant it near a door, where you can see it all the time and enjoy it that way ?
