Thanks both, we grow several Skimmias, but, this to my mind is the most attractive...

It is, it's a pity it isn't so hardy as the others.

Yes, up here it is a gamble. I left mine at the old house. I may get one for here in time. There's going to be a lot of work to do before the spring. A greenhouse to buy and erect, an arch to make and erect, a pergola to build, a vegetable garden to dig, trees to plant, Hostas to plant, spring bulbs to buy in flower and plant, a hedge to cut, three more apple trees to prune....more slabs to be power washed..a shade garden to dig out and plant....a potting shed to order and erect... Compost bins to empty...tree barnacles to burn....a LOT of work to do before the spring! It's getting to the point now where I don't know where to begin!

Thank you Janey, thought I might buy another one, because I do like variegated plants..

This is looking soooo good Dd. I've also found it to be a very temperamental plant... I'm on my second plant now which I decided to keep in a pot - One half of the plant is alive and well the other half dead twigs! :o( Not sure what the problem was...

Beautiful. I have also Skimmia Rubella, which has 1.5 m in diameter and is blooming now. They are so beautiful bushes into shady corners of garden.
