What is the best way to sow viola from seeds. I have been told that the seeds have to be placed in the fridge prior to sowing.

Thank you Great. I love pansies and violas. They make me think of ladies with painted faces wearing bonnets. I was told to put the seeds in the fridge for a few days prior to sowing. Is this correct?

I love violas I sow mine on the soil and very lightly cover them. My plants from last year have seeded themselves; so I presume the seeds laid on the top of the soil. They are flowering already. Beautiful flowers, they make me smile.
