How do I stop my herbs from becoming tall and thin?
United Kingdom
Hi there,
I am new as new can be to growing my own plants. I have just bought some potted herbs for the very first time (rosemary, chives, oregano, greek basil, mint, lemon thyme, sage, tarragon). At the moment they are young, about 6 inches in height. I wish to know how to prune my herbs so that they grow bushy. Do I have to clip the the tops off to encourage new growth further down the stem?

Keep using them and make sure they keep short.

harvest them as you need them,if you use some less than others simply keep them clipped to half there leggy size and watch them spring back.

I would say clip the tops off, especially to stop flowering.
