Previous question
I grow First Earlies, and wouldn't expect them to be ready for harvesting much before the end of July. They will flower, later this month, perhaps. The potatoes are ready to harvest after the flowers have withered and the stems and leaves are dying down and yellowing. If you have this amount of foliage above ground, try "earthing up" (drawing soil well up around the plants) and donj't worry about covering the leaves with soil. This will help you get more potatoes from each plant and will prevent any near the surface turning green, which makes them poisonous.
A good tip I got from a member here is to actually remove the flowers as they appear, which will also help to produce more potatoes.
