Monkey Puzzle or Chilean Pine grow like this. Its normal for the lower branches to die as the tree grows. I suggest you transplant the tree well away from buildings as this tree can grow very tall over time (20 years+) whereas this may not be a problem to you, it could be to the new property owner or the property owner after that (70 years +).
Don't plant it next to a path cos it'll stab you whenever you pass by.
