Before anyone starts asking if Moongrower has gone away on 31 January she underwent heart surgery to replace a valve. Everything went well and she no longer needs the specialist care of the hospital in Glasgow and has been transfered to the cottage hospital about five miles from home. Full recovery is slow but progressing positively

Pleased to hear Moongrower is on the mend, Bulba, and wish her all the best and back to the garden (recliner, bubbly, laptop, as soon as it's warm enough, gaining strength to return to active gardening)!

Thank you for letting us know. I had noticed there was nothing from either of you but hoped you were just away on an extended holiday. I'm glad to hear the op was a success. Please pass on my good wishes too. You will be happy to have her nearer home. Look after yourself and it will be so much easier when she gets home. This has not been the best of times to visit hospitals.

Best wishes and perhaps a little plant tonic might help, something with a single malt.

Thanks, Jimmy, I am about to pour it now - for me, that is!!!!

Loosestrife Mg did a couple of blogs on growing by the moon a long time ago - they might still be there if you want to look.

Many thanks Stera, I’m going on the hunt right now!........within three minutes using the goy search tool I have found a treasure trove of MG’s blogs of “growing by the moon”. I have found over 28 of her blogs on this subject and am still counting. If she places them all together MG could make a book! It’s going to take me a couple of days read all this.

How do I say thanks?
