ID . . . I'd love to know what I have planted in the garden (5 of them) which I don't recognise! There is a tight bud to the left which might be a clue. Thank you.

Thanks Eileen, but those names are not familiar. If the bud opens, that might help :)

Knautia macedonica?

Thanks Bamboo - it does look very like, but it’s not that either. I’ve kept a record of most things I’ve planted, but stupidly missed these. Must do better!

Just as wild guess, perhaps Gaillardia? Though at first sight, I thought that Bamboo's Knautia macedonica was good.

Thanks Jimmy - I'll Google Gaillardia, but it doesn't ring a bell. I might have to wait for my expert gardening friend, who will be here mid February . . .

Argyranthemum ? its a type of daisy that isn't hardy for me and I can only keep it if I pop it in the greenhouse.

Sounds feasible Eileen, but I have no memory of planting five! A friend does think it’s a type of daisy though.

Also looks a bit like rocket!

Well, a bit, Sophie, but it’s not Sweet Rocket (Hesperis) either!

I thought it looked like Rocket too?

No, Ladyessex, it’s definitely a flower of some sort (or will be if the forecast snow doesn’t crush it!).

Be sure to let us know what it actually is when you find out please!

Just following to find out what it is!
