why are my tomatoes wooly? - what I mean is they look beautiful but when you eat them they are a bit like cotton wool! is it too much water? not enough water? no feed?

Try growing a different variety next year - Marmande are good; big tomatoes with lots of flesh but little seed.

My guess would be erratic watering, and not enough liquid potassium feed ("Tomorite" or other brand), as you query, yourself..

My OH swears that this is because they are modern tomatoes - not the same as in 1955!
