Hello, I have a bay tree and alot of the leaves are curled over shriveled and have turned yellow. Could it be an insect?

Thanks. The bay tree is in the ground. Some of the leaves are fine, healthy and green. However, a large number of them are small yellow and curled over. On closer inspection I did see some very small, greyish, mite type insects. I have no idea what they are or how to get rid of them. Any ideas ? thanks

Is it in a pot or in the ground? If it's in a pot, it may be too dry and need watering (yes, in spite of all the wet weather, pots do need it!) Check for signs of infestation, too.
