Anyone any good ideas for lining a path? Ideally interest all year round if possible!

Would you like "floppy" and easy maintenance? Have a look at Hakonechloa macra (green, then yellow tints, bronze tints in autumn); lovely low ornamental grass, but it does die back in winter. Could interperse it with a few Ophiopogon nigrescens, low black grass with pinky flowers, which spreads.

ooohh I like the idea of Ophiopogon, I always forget that one. I have a bed to be edged. Thanks Sheilabub, sorry Sparklysocks for nicking an idea.

It's just occurred to me that another member on here has a steep set of steps - with planting round them - check out Annella's photos.

dwarf hebe's, heathers, sedums. Do you want formal or spill over. Something to prune to shape, if so how about Lonicera nitida, I keep mine at 8". really neat and quicker than box, but needs clipping every 6-8 wks.
