Vegetable Garden

I live in sheltered accomodation and have persuaded the landlords to clear a plot of the garden for vegetables, it has been cleared of any big roots and treated to kill the weeds,and wll be rotivated early in the new year.As I am new to vegetables I would like advice on what to plant and when.

Hi Keats,
If your garden could be dug over now sooner than rotovating, it can be cleaned of perennial weeds and left rough for the frost.
Growing potatoes the first year will help clean the ground, pyramid runner beans, radishes, lettuce, spring onions. After the potatoes, cabbage, sprouts, or autumn sowing of carrots.
