i have recently dug my garden ready to do veg.but soil is a little clayie.wot is safe to put on so i can put veg in shortly.

Sounds like you need to improve drainage and add nutrients, so sand and or peat and agricultural vermiculite will help with drainage and mature compost will help with nutrients. Maybe another UK member can recommend exactly what kind of compost would be best for you!
