I have a large pot full of these, had about 20 flower heads last year. We had some hard frosts when I didnt get out to put fleece over. How can I tell if its still alive?

If possible check the roots. If they're white and firm they should be fine. I had a dwarf Blue Storm variety that didn't survive and it's roots were brown and mushy,

Mine are currently poking up about 1cm above the soil.

Mine are all up a little, as well.

~ mine are always very late, they always are later in pots~so don't worry yet!I also grow mine in pots~give them a good watering and make sure they are in a warm area in the garden now~

Thanks all. There is nothing showing at the moment. I will move the pot onto my south facing patio and wait a couple of weeks. If nothing then I will check the roots as that will be a two person job getting them out of the pot
